About Chris Meyer

Dr. Christopher Meyer is a graduate (Summa Cum Laude) of the University of Notre Dame, and the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. Following medical school, Dr. Meyer completed his surgical residency at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati, and moved to Central Florida in 2004, where he has been dedicated to providing state-of-the-art care in General and Vascular Surgery.

During his training in Vascular Surgery, Dr. Meyer realized that patients with venous disease were being ignored by the medical community. Although patients suffered from pain related to varicose veins and venous disease, they were told that its treatment was merely cosmetic, and not a medical issue. As a result, Dr. Meyer started Florida Vein Care Specialists in order to service the vascular health needs of patients in Florida. Dr. Meyer is dedicated to the care and cure of venous disease ranging from varicose veinschronic swellingvenous ulcers, and spider veins.

To cure these conditions, he uses cutting edge, minimally invasive medical procedures. These include Endovenous Laser Therapy (EVLT)Phlebectomies (vein removal)Sclerotherapy, and the VeinGogh Ohmic Thermolysis System.

Dr. Meyer is also the founder of the Vein Academy that trains physicians from all over the world on both the EVLT and Radio Frequency procedures for varicose veins. The Vein Academy is located in Winter Park, Florida. See www.Vein-Academy.com.

About Mark Matey

Dr Mark A Matey is a graduate of Youngstown State University and the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine. Dr Matey left Northeast Ohio for good and spent the next three years in a well respected surgical residency in Miami, FL.

The residency program served those who served us best in South Florida. During his time at the Miami Veterans Affairs Medical Center Dr Matey recognized that his calling was to be in wound care. Shortly after Dr Matey settled in Jacksonville he was approached by Baptist Medical Center to help open it’s new Wound Institute, the first to offer hyperbaric in Northeast Florida. Dr Matey was fortunate to have a chance to utilize a vast array of biologic and technical advancements during this time.

However, there was one that stood alone in its profound and lasting effects, Endovenous Radiofrequency Ablation changed lives. Dr Matey has been changing lives for the better for the last ten years with his treatment of venous disease. This is why Dr Matey entered the medical field and why he has been a pioneer of sorts within his specialty. He has a wealth of experience treating venous disease with effective surgical and non surgical treatments.
